Hello everybody, and welcome to my first blog post about photography in Stowe Vermont 🙂
Beautiful Stowe Vermont
Yes, here in the green mountains of Stowe Vermont, everything is better. OK, maybe not everything. The first thing that comes to mind – jobs and diversity. I can’t say Stowe, or Vermont in general rates very high in either of those categories. But what do we do better than any other place on this Earth? Seasons! Yes, that’s right, nobody does seasons better than Vermont.
Spring? Yup it’s beautiful, a shade of green like no other and flowers popping out of the ground everyday. Summer? O ya, mountain biking everywhere you look, lakes and local swimming holes, 85 degrees. Autumn? Well, duh, the whole world already knows we won that one :P. Winter? Here in Stowe we have a winter comparable to many of the big snow zones out west. With Mount Mansfield reaching closer to 400 inches a year on average, winter in Vermont is awesome.
Being a Photographer in Stowe Vermont
Well, being a photographer in Stowe, Vermont is fantastic. Why? Well, because of the seasons! Whether you prefer portraits or landscapes, Vermont is the place to be a photographer if you ask me.
And then specifically, being a photographer in Stowe is even more fantastic. Why? Well, because of Mount Mansfield! This mountain has become perhaps the greatest influence in my life (I should write a blog post about that). Skiing at Stowe Mountain Resort is like skiing nowhere else in the world
Sure Vail sucks (#vailsucks), but no matter how hard they suck, Mansfield still shines for me. So then there is action photography. The mountain creates action in human being. From skiing at the top, to mountain biking at the bottom, and hiking all over, the photo ops in Stowe are non stop.
Why I love being a photographer in Stowe.
I love being a photographer in Stowe because it’s where I live. Haha, that may seem like a cheap answer, but it’s true! I have chosen to live here for 10 years now, so there is a reason.
I have been taking photos for even longer than 10 years because I love it here. I love the seasons, I love the action, I love the natural world and I love the beauty of it all.
And then there’s Burlington, 45 minutes away is so easy to do, and in the summer you can just shoot trough Smuggler’s Notch. If you don’t know, Smuggler’s Notch is amazingly beautiful! Talk about a place to take photos, it’s the tops.
But back to Burlington. Burlington Vermont is easily one of the coolest cities I have ever seen. And I have seen a lot worldwide! It’s got the right mix of cool, vibes and natural beauty that I just cannot resist.
